British Bodybuilder Consuming 7-8 Energy Drinks Daily Dies From Liver Cancer

Dean Wharmby, from Rochdale, England, was one of the guys who wanted an ideal body. This bodybuilder stuffed 10,000 calories every day in his diet, he drank up seven to eight energy drinks a day and he stuffed himself with fatty food. At a certain period, he has even taken steroids in order to gain on mass and build the muscles of his dreams.

Recently, Wharmby’s health habits eventually got him. Namely, he died of liver cancer at the age of 39.

Wharmby was a fitness fanatic whose habits cost him a liver tumor. The doctors had diagnosed him this large tumor in 2010. he did not agree to undergo the chemotherapy or the radiation as a conventional treatment and took the natural root instead. This means that he had totally changed his diet. He quit consuming sugar and red meat, and employed a combination of natural treatments and vitamins to fight the disease. However, unfortunately, it was too late and nothing could be done.

In March, his father said for the MailOnline that in his opinion, the cause of his son’s sickness was his diet, but the energy drinks and other factors contributed to a great extent. One of the remaining factors is also red meat, which has been proven to be so impure. Wharmby had been consuming these energy drinks, burgers, bacon sandwiches and pizza for so many years.

Even though alcohol is known to be the number one cause of liver diseases, fatty foods also can cause a condition called non-alcoholic steotohepatitis. This condition also can cause liver cancer, as well as liver failure.

Scientists have found out a sugar molecule in the flesh of pork, lamb and beef, which according to them may incite an immune response in people that causes inflammation, which can eventually result in tumor growth.

This sugar molecule is called Neu5Gc, and it has been discovered that it is very often present in cancerous tissues, in high amounts. However, this molecule is not originally produced by the human body. It is being produced in most of the mammals, people excluded, thus, the leading scientists think that this molecule has been taken in the human body through diet.

Red meat is considered to contain the highest quantities of Neu5Gc, meaning that pork, beef, bison and lamb contain the highest amounts of sugar. This Neu5Gc sugar molecule, though, is not found in poultry, fish, fruits and vegetables.

And when it comes to energy drinks, the beverages laden with caffeine and sugar, it has been proven that they are connected to approximately 184,000 deaths in the world since 2010.

Dr. Ellis Cleary, Chief medical officer of health for New Brunswick, Canada, has said in an interview for the CBC News that consuming unhealthy foods and drinks, particularly those sugary ones, is a considerable factor in all the top causes of death in this province, such as cancer, strokes and heart disease.

The energy drinks are highly dangerous and harmful due to their caffeine content alone. These products are full of caffeine to the extent that if you consume more than one beverage of this kind per day, you increase the risk of heart attack. This is applicable even for teenagers. Still, the risk due to the high presence of sugar is even higher when it comes to cancer.

Even though the mainstream media try to put the blame off of the sweet stuff, declaring that cancer cells do not thrive on sugar, nor does consuming excessive amounts of sugar in case you already suffer from cancer worsen your condition. The connection between sugar and cancer is still up to debate in all government and health circles; however, there is still some evidence that proves their connection.

For instance, a research from 2010, published in the journal Cancer Research, has revealed that cancer cells are able to gladly metabolize fructose (corn syrup) in order to increase their spreading. The leaders of the research have concluded that cancer thrives on sugar, but they have also came to another conclusion, which is, that the cells use mostly fructose for the process of cell division, which accelerates the growth and the spreading of the disease.

To sum up, if a person wants to have a completely healthy diet, they need to avoid sugar, because it is totally unnecessary and it can be replaced by Stevia, a natural substitute for sugar, which can even prevent and reverse type-2 diabetes. When it comes to protein intake, there are numerous ways to include proteins into your diet without consuming red meat, lamb or pork.
